Mist Club . KL

Mist Club . KL

For this particular entry, our group had decided to choose a place that is far different from other restaurants that we went as we wanted to try something different. We had decided to choose a clubbing venue, Mist Club located in Bangsar. The members of our group who visited this club were Terrence Lai, Herbert and Shaun Sin.

A few of us had some experience attending disco clubs and everyone decided to choose a club as our last entry and so here we are, Mist Club. Mist Club is a club that presents you a stylish and elegant space for all events, live shows and parties with the best DJ’s in town. Mist club also provides VIP level services to all their guests by their professionally trained staffs, guaranteeing every clubber a very soothing night.

Mist Club in Bangsar

Mist Club operates from 9.00pm until 3.00am late in the night. So Shaun drove us all there about 12 in the midnight directed by Terrence. Once we were there, car parks were already fully occupied as there are a lot of night clubbers hanging out after a long day, so we had to park quite some distance and walk to the club. Outside the club, we were being entertained by the club’s ambassador, Shaun Sin being the most experienced one among us helped us to decide the amount of drinks that we had to order and also asked for a table. After a short while, a table was said to be available and we were guided into the club.

Individuals having fun inside the club after a long day.

When we were in front of the main entrance into the club, we could already hear loud music that resembles R&B, Rock, mash-ups and so on. When we were inside the club, every single thing that was inside your mind would be instantly cleared up for that period of time as the loud music and also the all night partying scene had already blew you away, making sure that you have one thing in your mind, that is only to have fun all night long.

Black Label

On that night that we visit Mist club and ordered a bottle of Black Label that cost RM288 because of the holiday eve night's promotion. At first the waiter served us the Black Label with a bucket of coke and also  coke to mix with because we would get easily drunk if we were to have whiskey only. The taste of Black Label is quite bitter but after added with coke and ice it tastes sweet and nice. The amount of alcohol contained inside the black label is 40%, so to those who couldn't drink whiskeys are not encouraged to have it.

The price of the whiskeys and the beer in Mist club is quite reasonable and also slightly cheaper than the other clubs around Klang Valley . 1 bottle of  Black Label / Smirnoff Red costs RM340 for 5 pax entry all night long, 2 bottle of  Black Label / Smirnoff Red is RM598 for 10 pax entry before 12am and RM638 after 12am.

Apart from whiskeys, beer promotions for all night long are 1 Bucket of Heineken (5 bottles) for RM88, 1 Smirnoff Vodka Tower for RM85, 1 Tray of JagerBomb shots (7 shots) for RM118 and also Long Island Jug for RM90. Other than whiskeys and beers there are also mixed whiskeys for instance 1 Illusion Shots for RM85 and 1 Tequila Gold/Silver for RM100. That is why prices of whiskey and beers would shoot up after 12am.

The lighting to enhance the surrounding's atmosphere.

The dance floor for individuals to dance around.

There is also a dance floor opened for everyone to enjoy themselves accompanied by Rock and also R&B Musics. After all the drinking, a few of us went onto the dance floor and started dancing around. Everyone of us started mixing around mostly with ladies and started dancing together. After all the dancing, we went back to our table and continue our drinking again.

The surrounding of the Mist club is quite comfortable, the entrance to the club is quite huge and the decorations inside were quite creative, blending well with the musics. Overall is a good place and environment for the youngster or even the elderly to enjoy music, dancing, drinking and also have fun in Mist Club.

The environment and the space there is also suitable for organizing a birthday party. The only disadvantage of Mist Club is the whole club is that it is a smoking area whereby some of them actually smoke inside the club not respecting others that do not smoke inside.

Shaun Sin having fun in Mist Club.

Overall we felt that Mist Club is a wonderful place for everyone such as teenagers and also the adults to enjoy their time here relaxing. Please do not have the wrong concept that clubbing is a place whereby we would learn to become a bad person or a place where drug dealers would do their business at. Going to club is a common practice among many teenagers these days.

Pontian Wanton Noodles . Laksa

Pontian Wanton Mee . Laksa

Pontian Wanton Mee is a restaurant that is famous for its Wanton and Laksa noodles. There are many branches located in all around Malaysia and also Singapore. After several discussions, we decided to give that restaurant a try and we eventually picked the branch located in SS2. SS2 is a busy residential area that is often crowded and the parking spaces are also limited.

Once we entered the restaurant, we were instantly being served by one of the waitresses. The decoration of the restaurant was special and unique as the tables and chairs laid out reminded me of our nursery school as it is quite similar to it. Furthermore, the restaurant is fully air-conditioned and there is free Wi-Fi provided. The way they arrange both the look and services are quite systematic and neat. The customer service provided is very efficient.

Inside the restaurant

The menu design was eye catching as it was colorful and the food was well garnished that made the dishes look more appetizing. The menu also provided sufficient details for customers to have a better idea on how the food looks like and the ingredients used. The time taken for the food to be served to our table did not take long. This could be because there weren’t many customers at the time we went.

The restaurant's menu.

For the Wanton noodles, there are three flavors provided, that is pure black sauce, black sauce with chili oil and tomato sauce. We ordered 1 small black sauce Wanton noodle and 1 medium black sauce with chili oil Wanton noodle as this was what we wished to try. There was an additional charge of RM1 for a larger size noodle dish. But we felt that there wasn’t much difference in the quantity served between the small dish and the medium size dish.

For the Wanton noodle, it comes with a few slices of “char siew”, 2 pieces of wet “wanton”(in soup), 2 pieces of dry “wanton” (fried) and some vegetables. The first look of the food was not very enticing as the food wasn’t arranged properly and the side of the bowl was smudged with sauce. The Wanton noodles was quite oily but the saltiness was alright and the texture of the noodle was springy.

Pure Black Sauce (Left) , Black Sauce with chili oil (Right)

Besides that, we also ordered a bowl of Laksa and a plate of fried Wanton as a side dish. The laksa looks more like curry than what it is called. Inside the laksa there is “tau fupok”, fish cake, cockles and hard boiled egg. The laksa tasted very average and we did not see anything special about it. Instead, the fried wanton tasted quite good. Especially when it is eaten together with the mayonnaise and chili sauce provided alongside the fried Wanton. The Wantan skin was not too thick or thin and the filling in it wasn’t too much or too little. It is just nice I would say. The smell was delicious as well when it was first served.

From what we saw in the restaurant, the other customers seem to have enjoyed their meal and they looked satisfied with what they were eating. But in our opinion, there are some negative sides towards the restaurant as well. As an overall, the food there was not bad. We would give it a rating of 2.5-3 out of 5. The price overall was reasonable as they provided us with air cond, free Wifi and good service. It was certainly worth a try.
